330HP vs 275HP Jake

I am considering the purchase of a 195 with the "big engine" a none turbo 330HP Jacobs. Does anyone know the difference in performance and operating cost of a 195 with the 275 and 330HP engines?

Oil Press Rises w/Temp?

At 145F, my oil pressure is in the high 70s.  At 180F, my oil pressure is at the top of the green (90 psi).  What's up with that?

BTW, in 5 years I've never seen my temps a high as this last flight over Kansas.  There was a nasty temp inversion, at 4500MSL it was 85F, at 5500 it was 95F.  Add to that a long taxi after the refueling stop, well I kept it at 120IAS and eventually cooled down once I got over 8000'...

Ignition issues

Hello everyone.  My annual turned out to be a labor of love.  Two cylinders needed new everything.  They are back on and we ran it the engine yesterday and found another issue.  Upon doing a run-up, switching the key from both to the mag, I had no drop what so ever in RPM, went back to both, switched the key to the "B" side and the engine was going to turn off and I switched it back to both before it could.  I did a second run-up. Same issue.  The engine cranked up fine.  Maybe we pulled a wire loose when we swung the engine on the first day of the annual and didn't notice it?  Any ideas?  Thanks.

Tail strut (again)

OK, I tried to do the right thing, I removed the chevy valve spring from my tail wheel strut. Now I am removing the strut a third time in 2 months because it keeps leaking around the copper crush gasket... Whats the secret to stop the leak around this gasket?... I am just about ready to go dig thru the garbage and find my chevy valve spring.

Help

Another issue with the CofA inspection on VLD.

Can anyone assist with elevator trim tab travel for the C195B (mine is serial no 16111). We have 195 P/C’s and LC-126 M/M’s but I’m not confident the travel limits given in the LC-126 manual would be the same for a 195B. I have seen other limits hand written in our manuals stating less tab travel for aircraft with the larger flaps and elevators.

Thanks in anticipation Mike

Does anyone know where I might acquire the additional control wheel kit for the co-pilots side?

Hi All,

As we are working through the CofA process on VH-VLD we have decided that both the prop pitch and mixture control cabels are US and i was hoping that someone might give me a good source for replacements or have spare serviceable ones available.

P/n are:  0311031-2 for the pitch and 0311030-4 for the mixture

Cessna Sensations - new book

I recently became aware of a book that focuses on the earlier Cessnas including the 195s.  Many similar  books share the same photos that we've seen, but this one had a few new (to me at least) shots.  I recommend it as a good coffee table companion.

If you're interested you can buy it online at http://www.vintageflyer.com/Cessna-Sensations.php
